3D Academy Project Wraps Up with Final Online Meeting

The partners of the Erasmus+ 3D Academy project came together online on 7 October 2025 for their final meeting, celebrating the successful completion of this two-year project dedicated to advancing 3D design, scanning, and printing skills in vocational education and training (VET).

A Shared European Success Story
Since its launch, 3D Academy has empowered teachers, trainers, and students across Europe to explore the world of 3D technologies through an interactive online platform, practical workshops, and collaboration with FabLabs and industry. The project has reached learners in ten countries, with over 200 registered users actively testing and applying the new training materials developed by the consortium.

During the final meeting, partners reflected on the project’s journey, from early platform development to national piloting and final dissemination events now underway in October. Results show strong engagement and high satisfaction among participants, with teachers highlighting the hands-on, learner-centred approach as particularly valuable for making technical subjects more accessible and motivating.

Key Highlights from the Meeting
The 3D Academy e-learning platform is now fully functional, offering structured modules that guide users through 3D modelling, scanning, and printing.

A comprehensive 3D Training Manual has been finalised, combining practical exercises and classroom-ready resources for educators.

A new micro-credentials framework will help schools and training centres recognise 3D skills as part of formal or informal learning pathways.

Final “Spread the Word” events and national conferences are taking place this month across partner countries.

Looking Ahead
The 3D Academy partners agreed that the project’s biggest success lies in how it bridges technology, creativity, and education. By blending online learning with real-world practice, the initiative has shown that 3D innovation can become an accessible skillset for any classroom, not just for engineers or designers.

The 3D Academy platform and learning materials will remain available for free after the project’s completion, supporting schools, VET providers, and FabLabs that wish to continue integrating 3D technologies into their teaching and learning.
